Fingered Gloves

Kayla helps out in the barn everyday and as everyone can guess she needs loads of gloves as they tend to get kinda stinky and dirty. So I rose to the challenge and decided it was time to try and make some fingered gloves. Found a great pattern and am just about done with glove number 2.

I also used bamboo DPN for these and I must admit that I really like working with them and do prefer them over the conventional needles!

They are turning out so well, I am getting orders for more pairs.......how cool :-D

Luckily we live in an environment where I can knit and knit and knit and never get to the end of the projects as the European weather is very conducive to knitting!!!

I am sharing this with all the other creative folk here -

    1. Hi Andria,

This pattern is from verypink. You can find her link through my Ravelry project page. Her pattern was very easy to read and is accompanied by a tutorial which was very helpful. Good luck!

  4. Very nice! But I must say, I can't imagine spending the time knitting gloves that will be used in the barn. I hope they're washable. :-)

    1. Hi Kathryn
I guess you are right, but it was the push I needed to jump into the project. What I like about the gloves is that I could measure her fingers and knit them to fit her hands exactly, which is perfect because she is constantly pulling up store-bought gloves so that is a big plus. And yes, the wool is machine washable :-D Thanks for visiting x

    1. Thank you for the visit, I must agree with you, they are wonderful to work with, I have heard that they can split and splinter with age, have you found this? I have seen a set of needles I would love to get that are made from birchwood, I hope these will be just as nice :-D

  8. Your gloves are fabulous. I love the colors. I found that the bamboo needles are nice especially with finer yarn because you don't have the uncontrolled slipping. Great work.

    1. Ah thanks K, but I think the task just feels daunting! It really isn't as bad as it looks, once you've managed a tube, you can knit it any size - 60 stitches or 10.
