FO Friday - Creative Friday: In the Nick of Time

My post is a little late today, but I refused to allow myself to blog until I had finished bag 2. As I am typing up this post it is busy shrinking in the washing machine, so I will only be able to post this a little later :-D Ooh what will it look like???

The progress thus far:

Roughly 15 Minutes ago:
Tadah!!!! Bag no. 2
Measuring at a whopping 72cm in length!

And dragging almost on the floor :0D

Will come back to the finished bag at the end of this post.

Onto other news: Bag 1 is complete - embellished and new!

Jar for scraps.

On WIP Wednesday I visited over at Kittens with Mittens Blog and she offered a challenge to collect scrap yarn from our WIP for a year. I have decided to take on that challenge as I hate to see wastage at the best of times so it will be interesting to see just how many skeins I don't use! Above is my started jar. I will post my jar in the side bar and update it as it fills.

AND NOW: Introducing BAG 2 - Straight out of the washing machine :-D

Measuring in at 47cm

And no longer scraping the floor!

It is over a chair back outside getting dry while I decide how I will decorate it. If you want to know how it looks do come back next week to check :-D
I will be sharing this post over at :

    1. Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for the compliment, you are so kind.

The bag is for my eldest daughter, will see what she thinks when she gets home from school! I hope it will of some use to her....

Glad it is done though, was one of those projects where you are glad to finally get to the end of it, and with the felting the first run is enormous!!!! I am pleased with the end result though.

      Thanks for visiting

  2. Terrific bags...it's amazing how they shrink, isn't it?!?!
I love your 'scrap jar' idea.
...maybe you'll donate your collected bits to a 'needy' feltmaker when the jar is full?!?!?!? Giggle.

    1. That's a great idea.....do you know of any? LOL. The wool lady down the road eyes light up when I walk through the door these days, I am wondering why? :-D

  3. Oh my gosh... it's always amazing to me how much wool can shrink in the washing machine. That pre-shrinking photo is AWESOME!

    1. Hi Kathryn Ray,

Yes, I also find it absolutely amazing how it does that!

      Thanks for the visit.

  4. Love the turquoise bag with buttons....fabulous. The jar would never hold all my left over tidbits. One afghan made from squares would probably about fill it, lol. What do you plan to do with your collected tid bits?

    1. Not sure, any ideas?

Maybe use them in some kind of small hand-felted project, will see what I manage to come up with, that's could be interesting!

      Thanks for popping round.

  5. I really like both of your bags. Those buttons are cute embellishments too. I've been saving my scraps for a while now, with the original intention of using them as filling on a home made dish scrubber. Of course I can't remember where I saw the pattern now.........

    1. Hi Amy,

I agree, you can really not imagine how the finished project will look until you dig it out of the washing machine!

      Have a great weekend.

    1. Hi Shannon,

Yip, it does feel like a lot of work just shrinks away, but the finished product is worth it :-D I have since embellished bag 2 and it looks so funky! Will post it on Wednesday.

      Thanks for the visit
