WIP Wednesday / Yarn Along

Not very much to blog about today, have been really busy with the unpacking and stuff. I did finish these wrist warmers for Kay. I used some of my stash that I had over from the Maluka Shawl. I have a friend who has birthday shortly and she is always complaining of cold hands and wrists so I think I will make her a couple of them as well.
I am reading the Hunger Games and so far am enjoying it.....starts to sound a bit like a gruesome take on Survivor to me right now!

Well hope you all have a wonderful, springy Wednesday.

I will be sharing this post over at:

  1. Those look like very sweet and snuggly wrist warmers :)

I just finished the Hunger Games trilogy - if you like it then I'd recommend watching the film Series 7: The Contenders, Running Man and/or Battle Royale ;)

    1. Thanks for the recommendations, will look out for those titles. Not sure if I would watch the Hunger Games though, the movies are always such a let down if you have read the book first. I think the only movie that totally was worth the nine hour marathon (which we do at least once come winter weekends!) was Lord of the Rings...and even that I was weary to watch because it is one of my all-time favourite books!

      Thanks for the visit

  4. Very pretty, I like that yarn! You are right, the Hunger Games is very survivory--with a deadly twist!

    1. Hi Andria,

Have you read all three of the books? If you did, did you enjoy them? I would like to read all three, but I just have such a looooooong to-read list that I am not sure if I will. Will see how book 1 ends.

      Thanks for your visit.

    1. I have been visiting all the blogs listed over at Tami's and Ginny's through the afternoon. Sooooooo many people have just started or are reading the trilogy it makes me wonder how many people there are in the world, virtual or otherwise who are reading these books right now?!

      Enjoy your holiday!

      Thanks for the visit

  6. I just commented on another blog that it's odd for me that so many people are reading the Hunger Games Trilogy right now...I'm usually so behind on my reading that I'm months (or years!) behind the latest reading trends!!

    1. It is rather a strange occurance, I mean Harry Potter was big but this book seems to be gianormous!!!!! Which book are you busy with?

      Thanks for popping round.

  7. I think the Hunger Games is a lot about things like Survivor - I honestly think the big question in it is: is it okay to watch people suffer for your entertainment? I mean, if we're anyone in the Hunger Games, we're the Capitol, not the Districts . . .

    1. Oh, I so agree...

But it doesn't really end at things like Survivor though does it. I mean these days we get to witness numerous kinds of off-colour stuff, it is like humankind has openly decided it is ok to take this morbid fascination with "Reality" to the next level.

  8. Your wrist warmers look cozy. I have been hearing a lot about the Hunger games, but haven't decided whether I want to read it or not.

    1. Hi mkonieczki,

Thank you. I hope she will like them, my daughter loves them, and wears them to school. She said it is so nice to have your hands nice and warm but not to have to wear gloves to keep them warm.

      Thanks for popping past.
