Fall into Reading 2012

This autumn I am joining in with Katrina from Callapidder Days for the "Fall into Reading" Challenge.
The goal is to read through my own challenge book list below starting from today (22nd September 2012) and finishing on 21st December 2012.
As my reading skills are sorely lacking as of late, I have decided that I am going to take up this challenge and in doing so I may even accomplish my Good Reads Challenge I set for myself. (only managed 25% so far :-()
So without further ado, here is my list for the challenge, 14 books for 14 Weeks:

A Game of Thrones - George Martin
A Clash of Kings - George Martin*
A Storm of Swords - George Martin*
A Feast for Crows - George Martin*
A Dance with Dragons - George Martin*
Nineteen Minutes - Jodi Picoult
The Tenth Circle - Jodi Picoult
My Sister's Keeper - Jodi Picoult
Abandon - Meg Cabot
Chariots of the Gods - von Daeniken (started this in the past but didn't get very far)
The Book Thief - Markus Zusak
City of Bones - Cassandra Clare
City of Ashes - Cassandra Clare*
City of Glass - Cassandra Clare*

* If the first of the series is not to my liking, I will be substituting these books with other titles.
As I complete these books, I will update this list and add a book review just for fun :-)
Does this challenge tickle your fancy? Are you also taking part? If you would like to go HERE

Well got to run, have some serious reading to do!
Did I mention that I work and knit?
Have a great weekend.

  1. Jodi Picoult is one of those authors I keep hearing about, but I have never read yet.

    1. Hi barbarah,
I am the same, heard a lot about her but have never read any of her work. These books look quite interesting, I hope they are good, I am terribly fussy about books, if I don't fall into the story by the second chapter, well then I tend to put it down and not pick it up again!
      Thanks for visiting.

  2. Looks like you'll be busy! :) I can see you like to find an author you like and stick with him/her. I've read some Picoult, but not the ones you list. I thought Book Thief was very thought-provoking. I could hardly put it down!

    1. Hi Shonya,

I know it may seem like I choose an author and run with their full series, but I like to have the story finished so-to-speak. Especially if the other books in the series are good reads. I have heard many good reviews about "The Book Thief" and look forward to getting my teeth inot it.
      Thanks for popping by.

    1. Hi S,

Yes, I can't wait to get into them all, I guess I won't be reading them in the order I posted them, as I have already started to read Abandon this morning as it just looked so good (I love Mythology and books derived from those stories) :)
      Thanks for dropping by.

  4. So glad you're joining the challenge! Looks like you have some good variety in your reading list. I've enjoyed a number of Jodi Picoult books. Nineteen Minutes was good...but it was hard for me to read, just because of the topic. I haven't read any of the Game of Thrones books, though I know everyone's talking about them...
    Enjoy your fall reading!

    1. Hi Katrina,

I did try and get into the Game of Thrones some time ago and just couldn't give it my full attention. At that time I had just finished the Hunger Game Trilogy and I guess I needed an easy read just then. I have read only great reviews about the book, so I thought this would be a perfect time to get into the story!

  17. Oooh, some great titles there! I've not read any Jodi Picoult yet, but I have the first George R.R. Martin book ready and waiting on my shelves. I'd forgotten about The Book Thief when I made my list, but I really wanted to read it this year - maybe I'll have to squeeze it in nearer Christmas! I've also got The Night Circus, Journey to the Centre of the Earth and Dash and Lily's Book of Dares pretty high on the list. So many great books, so little time!
    Happy reading... :D

I agree with you! I am that far that I am physically reading a book before I go to bed, and listening to another while I knit or work just to make the slightest dent in my Have-To-Have-Read Pile!

  19. Good luck with your reading challenge! I'll be interested to hear what you think about Picoult's books. I read one and enjoyed it. Read a second and saw that it was basically the same plot as the first. I didn't like either of the endings! To each his own; I know most people LOVE Picoult's books.

    Happy reading!

    1. Hi Cassandra,
Thank you :) Yes, I also look forward to seeing what her books are like. I am like you, generally I stay clear of mass hypes as experience has taught me that I don't enjoy the "Amazing" Reads. Only time will tell I guess, I will be sure to do a review.

  21. I love your list! City of Bones is on my list as well, and I've been thinking about including Game of Thrones...decided against it so I can read it in winter :) I actually started The Book Thief a while back, but never finished it. Not because it's bad, just didn't have time and never continued.
    Happy reading!
