FO Friday - Free Fingerless Glove Pattern

As promised on Wednesday I would like to share my Fingerless Glove Pattern with you all today as my FO for Friday :)

Here we go:

Yarn: DK thickness, I used Freedom Spirit. 50g is ample.
Needles: 3.5mm (US 4mm) DPNs, 1 Cable needle similar size
Extras: 2-3 Stitch Markers, piece of spare thread or stitch needle.

Abbreviations:

pm – Place Marker
ssk – Slip, Slip, Knit
k2tog – knit 2 together
M1L – Lift strand between the last stitch knitted and the next stitch to knit. Place needle through stitch from front to back. Knit stitch from back.
M1R - Lift strand between the last stitch knitted and the next stitch to knit.
Place needle through stitch from back to front. Knit stitch from front.
(A tip about M1R and M1L, if the stitch you have picked up is too easy to knit, you may have knit it from the wrong side. This stitch, if knitted correctly is pretty tight)

Cast on 40 sts and distribute evenly over 3 needles. (12, 12, 16)
Rib for 10 rounds (K2, P2)

Pattern:

First Cable round: K20, P2, place 3st on cable needle, lie cable needle in front of work, K3, K3 off the cable needle, P2, K to end.
Next round: *K20, P2, K6, P2, K to end*. (Repeat ** 4 times)
Repeat First Cable Round and do so on every 5th round.
After 25 rounds start the thumb gusset at the same time as continuing the cable pattern.

Gusset:  Left (Right)

Round 1: K12 (K34), pm, M1L, K1, M1R, pm , continue in pattern till end
Round 2: K12, (K34) Kst between markers, continue in pattern till end. (repeat this round on all even rounds)
Round 3: K12 (K34), pm, M1L, K3, M1R, pm, continue in pattern till end.
Round 5: K12 (K34), pm, M1L, K5, M1R, pm, continue in pattern till end.
Round 7: K12 (K34), pm, M1L, K7, M1R, pm, continue in pattern till end.
Round 9: K12 (K34), pm, M1L, K9, M1R, pm, continue in pattern till end.
Round 11: K12 (K34), pm, M1L, K11, M1R, pm, continue in pattern till end.
Round 13: K12 (K34), pm, M1L, K13, M1R, pm, continue in pattern till end.
Round 15: K12 (K34), remove marker and place stitches between markers onto a piece of spare thread or stitch pin.
Next Round (Hand): K12 (K34) increase 1 st over Gusset gap, continue in pattern till end.
Continue Hand in pattern until next Cable Round. (4 Rounds)
Rib for 10 Rounds (K2, P2)
Cast off Rib-wise.

Thumb:

Place stitches from thread back on the DPNs (6,6,3)
K across stitches. At gusset beginning pick up and K 4stitches.
Next round: knit to last 4 stitches, (stitches picked up in previous round) ssk, K2tog.
K5 Rounds
Cast off.

And there you have it.
I would love to hear from those of you who do knit these gloves.
