I will showcase the 3 most visited links next Thursday.
For this craft you will
need:
A Terracotta pot
Gonis Relief Paste* (a
gritty cover paste for to cover the pot)
A serviette with an
image that you would like to display
Gonis Dekopointer* (For
the finishing touches around the edges)
Gonis Finisher* ( A
water resistant lack)
Gonis Eiskristal* (The
glass splinters to give the lantern the “Snowy” Feel)
A Pair of end cutters
(to remove the excess pot)
Let's
begin...
First soak the pot for
about half an hour in some lukewarm water.
Only fill the basin
with as much water as you need to wet the side of the pot only.
Once the pot has soaked
enough, carefully break off bits of the pot to create your opening.
(I got hubby to do this, it is the bit where I can't watch :))
As soon as the pot has
dried you can continue.
Apply a layer of the
Relief Paste* to the inside of the pot.
Cut out the Serviette
image that you are wanting to use.
Remove the two back
pieces of the serviette.
If they do not come
away easily, lightly wet the tip of your finger and tap at the back
of the serviette. They should release themselves from the top layer
pretty easily that way ;)
Place the cut out image
onto the still wet Relief Paste* and press on ever so lightly.
Allow to dry.
Then use the Relief
Paste* cover the outside of the pot.
Allow to dry.
Once dry, use the
Finisher* to cover the inside of the pot, making sure to cover the
entire serviette.
Whilst the Finisher* is
still wet, sprinkle some of the Eiskristal* over the surface of the
inside of the pot, covering the serviette image and sides.
Once dry, use the
Finisher* to the outside of the pot, making it Water-Resistant.
Again allow to dry.
Apply the Dekopointer*
drops to the outside of the rim as decoration and allow to dry for
the final time.
And there you have it,
an amazing “Wintery” scene to liven the festive table or the
windowsills.
*I use Gonis
products as I love their high quality standard and versatility. If
you cannot find these products where you live, you will need to find
something similar (hence the descriptions in brackets).
You may also contact
me if you require more info on them as I am a Gonis Distributor.
