WIP Wednesday

Today, I am not going to show you a knitting WIP, because quite frankly, there really isn't much to show you at all! I haven't been knitting very much at all lately and have been busy being creative in other ways.
Here is a butterfly that I am busy with. I still need to add the finishing touches but have loved creating her.
Would you believe that these vibrant colours come from crayons? Amazing.

Have a great Wednesday :-D

Crafting away the hours

This weekend I have been crafting away, which in itself is pretty meditative.
Remember Jassy's Ravellenic pullover?
I did say that I was planning on finishing it up with something or other. We decided it would look really cute with some needle felting of some sort, and so this is what we decided on:
I loved being creative in this way. Putting the finishing touches to a self-made garment. I am pretty happy with the results.
Then I went on to craft something of a different nature:

Isn't she cute?
How was your weekend?
Our weather has gone from a wonderfully hot summer week (roughly 38 degrees C most days) to turning and dropping down to 12 Deg this morning :-O. The forecast for tomorrow says snow! Oh my, where is that glove yarn again, will be whipping up some pairs this week quickly just in case.
Chat soon.

Blog Silence

I do apologize for being ever so quiet this week. My dear Father-in-law has passed over and it has been a very trying week for all concerned. I will hopefully will be back in full swing from Monday onwards.
Have a good weekend.

Agenda Lurv

I did mention on Wednesday that I will share my craft project with my agenda with you today. Since I restarted as an advisor and distributor of these amazing crafty Gonis products I needed to refurbish my agenda (Filofax), so I hauled it out of it's storage in the attic and started to get it back into order, and boy did I have fun doing it!
It isn't finished, not by a long shot, but I am on a good path to getting there. I love being able to put my own mark on the agenda making it unique and personal.
Here is the progress thus-far :-D
The Tabs I have in my agenda:
  • Gonis
  • Misc
  • Wish-Lists
  • Agenda
  • To-Do
  • Projects
  • Planning
  • Notes
  • Web
  • Knitting
  • Finances
  • Addresses

I want to share how I made this folder to hold little odds and ends.
You will need an A4 piece of card, a saucer (or something to create the round shape), a pencil, ruler, glue, universal paint (I am using GoniDecor).

Fold in half to get an A5 double sheet.
Using the saucer on the folded edge, draw half way around the plate. Then draw a straight line to the opposite edge of the page. Cut around this shape. Unfolded it will look something like this:
Place glue along the edge (where the red lines are) and fold the pages back together and press together.
Punch holes into the straight edge of the folded booklet.
Decorate the page with paints.
And there you go!
If you have any queries about the products I use in these crafty posts please feel free to ask :-D
I will be sharing this over with all the other wonderful people over at:

Wednesday already??!!

Oh my, now that I am working again time does seem to fly right by.
I must tell you how wonderfully grateful I am for having been able to knit and crochet away the last eight months while searching for a job. Had I not had a craft to fall back on, I am sure I would either be stark raving mad right now, or depressed to the brink of destruction.
On a sentimental note, it is my moms birthday today. She passed over 2 months ago, so it is a bit strange to have her birthday come round without her to share it with - So a big Happy Birthday to you Mom, we are all thinking of you on your special day xoxo
I do have quite a bit to share with you all, (another bonus of being busy :-D).
Let me start with my WIP:
Not too much happening on that front, but it is moving, albeit a bit slower than the last 2 weeks whilst I was busy with the Ravellenic Games I might add!
I have started working on Kays' pullover again.
Problems I have with it: Well, it looks tiny! I adjusted the pattern twice when I started so that it would fit her well, but as I continue knitting it is looking really small. She tried it on and so far it fits - just fits, I guess I don't mind as long as it will fit her for the first bit of the winter season.
My other problem with it is the wool :-( If you have been following my blog, you may have noticed that the last couple of projects were done in a ribbon yarn (ONline Nova 211), which I got for a bargain through Ebay a couple of months ago. Well, bargain here or there, I won't be using this stuff again. Whilst using this in my projects (and it has happened in all of them where I have used the yarn, not as much in the crochet though) the yarn that is combined with the ribbon bunches up and by the end of the ball the ribbon is so thin so I am cutting off about 0.5m of each time just so that my work looks even :-( Have any of you out there had this kind of experience?
On the Reading front:
Started this book last night. So far it is quite gripping and I could only put it down when my eyes were just about closed LOL! You can get this from Book Depository at a really good price (If you click on the link, or the image, it will take you through to the version that is 56% cheaper, and they deliver S/H FREE!!) I haven't read an of the others from the series yet, but will look into getting them if this one is good.

I am so excited about this new news and have as such left it till last! I am once again demonstrating Creative Crafts as a distributor of Gonis Products available in the german speaking countries. I was busy selling and demonstrating with these products many years ago, I love them and the infinite possibilities I have with them. I will be starting a section (hopefully, I will find the time to dedicate a day to post and share tutorials and the like of how I make the things I do) and would love for you to come and have a squiz. I am busy revamping my "filofaxy" agenda and will be using that as my first post on the subject. I hope to have it finished in time for Friday!
I will be sharing this post and I look forward to seeing what all the talented folk are up to over at:

Crossing the finish line!!!

I did it, I completed my Ravellenic Games 2012 Sweater and in doing so crossed the finish line with time to burn :-D The project took me 15 Days to complete!
AND.........I have a FO to share, how cool is that!
I will probably be embellishing the front of the pullover for Jas, haven't decided on how or with what just yet, but will be sure to share if we do!

Busy, Busy, Busy

I have only the one project to share with you this week as it is taking up all my knitting time!
I have managed to get quite a bit of the sleeves done of my Ravellenic Games Event Project, so once again I have the finish line in my sights, lost it for a while, but now I know I will make it.
Reading: Haven't got any reading done this week, have been using all my free time to knit ;-)
Next week all things should be back to normal, although school starts again so routines will once again be changing, but change is always welcome!
Have a great mid-week.
I am going to be taking a week from Kitchen Krafts for a while as I am rather busy with other things. Will share more with you soon!

Slow and Steady wins the race!

I am still busy on the sleeves and have set myself a daily target for each day, otherwise there is no way I could possibly finish on time. Even with the days targets, life still goes on and sometimes it isn't possible to get all that you had hoped for done!
Oh well, as long as I am still enjoying myself that is all that counts at the end of the day.
How are your projects coming along?

Ravellenic Games - Day 10

Already day 10 :-O
I have started on both the sleeves and realize that I have quite a bit to knit to get to the end of this jersey. Need to pull out all the stops now as I have got to knit about 100 rows on each sleeve to get somewhere and only 7 more days to go!

I didn't knit anything yesterday as we were invited to spend the day on Lake Thun sailing and wake-boarding! The weather was fanastic and it was such good fun, but even though I was lathered with sun cream I still burnt to a crisp :-(
The girls had so much fun but are not managing to use their arms very much today as they are so stiff - shame!
Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera with me, didn't even take my cell phone, so I can't share even one photo with you....

Anyway, got to run, lots of knitting to do!
Have a good rest of your weekend!

Bonfires and Full Moons

We had wonderful weather for the bonfire and procession last night. Just as the fireworks were finishing we had a thunderstorm, the evening was great! Did you see the amazing moon we had?
I must apologize, my night-time photography sucks, but I took lots of photos and some of them are ok and some not so good, so I have selected the best of them to share with you :-)
The procession:
The Bonfires:
The little red fleck in the photo above is one of the fires on the opposite side of the lake.
As are these squiggles
This bonfire is on the side of the alp on the other side of the valley
The ships do a round on the lake all lit up and lovely.
This is my photo :-(
So I found one on the net from someone who can take night photos :-D

Have a happy rest of your Thursday!
