Happy Thursday everyone!
Today I am going to show you all how to create this quick and simple decoupaged Tea-Light candle holder.
I did cheat a bit on this project as I am really quite useless when it comes to woodwork :(
So, with that in mind, I bought a ready made MDF Tea-Light candle holder in the shape of a heart.
If you are better than me in working with wood, then I am sure you could make one of these yourself.
If not, check your local craft shop, I am sure they should have something along these lines.
For this craft you need:
MDF Tea-Light Candle holder
*Basis Decor (Base Colour)
A serviette image that you want to use
*Finisher (A waterproof topcoat)
*Dekopointers (Deco pen for the dots)
First, apply the base coat to the top and sides of the candle holder.
Allow to dry.
Whilst drying, cut off a 1/4 of the serviette and remove the back layers.
(You should be left with only the top layer)
Once the base coat is dry, place the serviette on top of your candle holder as you would like it to be in the end.
(You can cut it to size if you would like to do that, but I plan on decoupaging the sides with the rest of the serviette, this is why I leave it whole.)
Using the Finisher, work carefully to "Glue" the serviette to your holder. Be sure to work from the middle outwards, this prohibits the serviette creasing. Use the lightest of pressure, otherwise you will find that the serviette can start to tear.
(I do find that decoupage allows for many mistakes, so if your serviette does tear, don't panic, just place a similar piece from the serviette over the hole and cover it up. Once it is dry you will not notice this.)
Using sharp scissors, cut the centre piece (The actual candle holder) out.
Now, glue down the serviette over the sides of the candle-holder.
Allow to dry.
Once dry decorate with Dekopointers until you have the desired effect.
And there you have, a cute little candle holder to help light up your Valentines' Day!

What a nifty way to keep your leftover wool neat and tidy!
Ooh, I love the look of these! I am always on a look out for something homemade as snacks for my girls when they get home from school. This might not end up as a breakfast anything, but as a yummy in-betweener :)
Thanks for hosting, Natalie! I love your project today :-) {I am also busy with a heart shaped MDF, but doubt if I will finish it before V/Day :-( } Have a great weekend!
