Just a Little Further.....

WIP Wednesday

I am hoping this is the last week of the blue - sorry for this extremely long project. Last week I optimistically calculated that by being on the yoke it meant that I was finished - right? Well, at a starting point of some 400 stitches on a size 3mm needle it was/is very slow going!

Amazingly I still love this project and can't wait to wear it! And with the temps plummeting like they are at the moment it won't be finished a moment too soon either.

Drops Cleo

So as not too bore you to tears with the blue, I thought I would share another project I am busy with and have had to start in tandem to my jersey as there is a time limit to complete this one.

knitting loop cap

I am using some of my stash wool from my other drawer (The one you haven't seen yet - it is stacked!) to quickly get some winter caps going for a local charity that sends Christmas packages to Hungary. I haven't used my knitting loom for some time and it is such a quick and easy way to get a project on and off the needles so-to-speak. I will show the caps and share the pattern with you as I get them finished.

  5. Oh my goodness - you must have the patience of a saint to do all of that knitting on 3mm needles! I take my hat off to you. Your sweater is gorgeous.

    1. Hi Hannah,
Knowing that the end is near - or nearer does make it easy to be patient. The good thing is (touch wood!) that having ripped back a total of 4 times on this jersey I can kind of do the stitches with my eyes closed so it is quite enjoyable at the moment. My motivation right now - end is close at hand LOL!!

  9. I always admire people who knit with solid dark colors! Just thinking about it makes me twitchy. I love the sweater --- it looks satisfyingly complicated, but as if it had a pattern you could memorize after a while!

    1. Hi Spinster Beth,
It is wonderfully satisfying I must say and I am getting quite used to knitting the pattern so it is almost completely memorized (it is also quite simple, it just looks like it could be difficult - it isn't :)

      Thanks for visiting.

  10. I love your sweater. I'm fairly certain though I would not have the patience to knit on such small needles. Hope the weather in Switzerland stays warm enough until you finish. The Christmas swap sound interesting.

Yes, it has been a good patience trying experience, but it grew faster than expected, but still not fast enough!

  11. what a gorgeous sweater!!!! well worth all the time all those stitches take! :) Oh, just this morning I volunteered to knit hats for a 'solidarity' project......a friend of my husband's is most likely going to lose his hair (chemo) and a group is going to shave their heads in solidarity.....guess who is making the hats!!! (never thought about those looms!!! great idea!)

    1. Oh wow Steph,
That is amazing, how many hats do you have to make?
I will try and finish my cap with pattern for next week so that you have another, really quick option to use should you want to :)
      Good luck!
