Book Review - Friendship Bread

Friendship Bread Book review

Friendship Bread by Darien Gee
ISBN: 978-0945525352

I found this book to be an easy read, but unfortunately not the kind of book that had me turning the pages to find out what was happening next :(

The characters in the book were like-able enough although I did find myself getting rather annoyed with Julia.

I must admit that whilst reading I did recall times when I had a "Herman" growing at home and got me wondering if I should get one going again just for the fun of it.

What stopped me doing just that was the fact that I too, like some of the residents in Avalon, had Herman coming out of my ears and I really don't want to go there again!

Although.......maybe just one batch :)

Regrettably, I found this title and it's events to be rather foreseeable, which doesn't allocate many points in it's favour.

All in all, not a bad read, but not really my taste.
I much prefer a book that has me guessing and turning the pages in anticipation!

I award this book:

  1. I think the whole Julia person in the book is not realistic and how the people involved, most of all her husband and parents, deal with her problems is not realistic either. I don't think that a bag of dough changes everything. I also think that the "letter-story" was a bit farfetched. Either you mail it or you don't. You don't let it laying around until someone "incidentially" mails it.

But otherwise it was a quick and easy read. "We all have our regrets in live", that thought sticks with me. :-)
