FO Friday Fun

fo friday fun

This week, I want to share my May Socks which I managed to get off my needles last weekend :)

smocked guernsey socks

I modified this pattern slightly:

I only made a patterned leg and left the foot pattern-free, which I really like!

I knitted a fish lips kiss heel and made a contrasting cuff, heel and toe.

Main Yarn: Wunderwolle Sock
Contrasting Yarn: Drops Fabel

Luckily this week was a little wet and cold, so I had a great opportunity to wear them, they fit perfectly ;)

What did you manage to finish this week?

Feel free to share your FOs with us all below :)
Have a great weekend.

FO Friday Fun

Another week is done and this week I have something new to share with you.
It is my Mindful Shawl which has actually been off the needles for a while now, but I haven't done anything to it just yet :(

Well, I am blocking it at the moment (which in itself took almost a month to happen), but I wanted to share it with you today - so here it is.......

Have you finished something this week?

I would love to see what you have been up to :)

Real Life....

These days I just never seem to get time to blog, which is rather sad :(
I am hoping that real life will calm down in the near future enough for me to have a little space each week to dedicate some time to blogging and chatting with you all, as I am really missing it!

We are still in full swing with our renovation and it is taking all of my free time, and when I have a moment I am trying to get as much crafting done as possible - it helps to bring me back to my center and as such is something I am clambering to right now - isn't it nice to have something so relaxing and fun to do that actually helps one stay sane :D

I have many projects on the go right now, and am working on those that tickle my fancy as I just don't have enough time to work on all of them, even though I would love to.

So let me fill you in with the projects I have been busy with over this last week:

smocked guernsey socks

Knitting: These are my May Socks

I am about 3 cm before I start on my toe caps which is great!

Before the spring gets into full swing I would like to complete our cat bed, but I can't seem to move onto that project until at least my socks for the month are off the needles - I am so weird that way!

I decided on a pattern free foot, basically because of time constraints.
When I thought about it, I thought that I would always wear these with closed shoes, so I wouldn't see the patterning anyway.

I know it is a bit lazy, but the patterning does take quite a bit of time to create, and as much as I love the patterning on the leg, I quite like the pattern-free bit of the sock just as much :)

I am hoping to be close to finishing these babies off this week if possible.

the meadow drops

Crochet: This is the beginnings of my Meadow Blanket.

I am rather late to the party as I wasn't too sure if I wanted to crochet-along, but eventually decided that it would be a nice change and hooked my first square.

I am really enjoying this project and hope to catch up over time.

Above you can see my clue 1 and 2.

I am crocheting this project in the suggested yarn.

Are you taking part in this project?

gorjuss stitching

Stitching: I am hooked!

Sue from the Legacy Knitz Podcast started a stitching revolution and I really wanted to give it a go as it looked like soo much fun :)

So I bought myself this cute Gorjuss kit and got started almost instantly.
To be quite honest, I would love to stitch all day if I could and my eyes would hold up!

gorjuss

Yes, I suddenly realized how my eyes are getting old!

At first I couldn't find the holes and at some points I was seeing double :O
But as the day progressed it got a little easier to see what I was doing and I fell totally in love with the craft!

I am already considering future projects, and can see myself becoming as addicted to stitching as I am to all of my other yarny crafts.

 Do you stitch?
If so what are you busy with?

Reading Wise: I have finally started to get some reading done and am busy reading a new title - The Girl in the Ice

Well, I must be off again.

Do come back on Friday and share your FOs for the week with me, I would really love to see what you have been up to :)

I will be sharing this post with all of my weekly creative friends, so do pop over there for some great inspiration.

FO Friday Fun - Me Made May

lutterloh 291 43

Today I have a FO to share with you.
This is my finished top that I made in April.

I used the Lutterloh Pattern (Supp 291 pattern 43)

I like the fabric, and the general cut of the top. I messed up a little on the top of the smocking as I used and elastic and maybe should have alternatively used a smocking elastic to get a better effect.

Overall I am happy with it though :)

What have you finished this week?
Share your FOs below.

Socks, socks, socks, and a cat basket

I feel like I haven't been here forever.

It has only been three weeks in reality, although those 3 weeks have felt like trying to cram a years worth of work into 3 minutes!

But, I am so glad to be back and look forward to getting back into the swing of things and get you all up to date on what I have been up to over the last while.

Let me start by showing you my week's WIPs, which is the perfect way to start :)

As we are STILL busy with our reno, I find myself being drawn to the smaller projects, or things that seem to grow quite fast and be taken with me in my bag.

What better projects to do that with than socks!

And a couple of them :)

May socks

These are my May Socks.

I am so in love with the yarn as well as the pattern and look forward to being able to spend some more time with these babies over the weekend :)

I am knitting these top down and am using a complimentary cuff, heel and toe.

Main yarn: Wunderwolle
Complimentary yarn: Drops Fabel

It has been so lovely to watch how many more people have decided to join in the sock-along fun for 2016 and I love watching each and every pair of socks grow!

If you would like to join us in this month's Sock-Along you can find out more HERE

interim socks no. 2

These are a pair of interim socks when I need to have stripes ;)
I am knitting these for Jas.

fine and dandy

This pair of socks is finally making me happy :)

Except for the toes :( which I am not that thrilled with as they are really pointy, but by the time I had finally got beyond the toe I was so over ripping it back for the third time that I am going to make peace with them!

When I received this yarn in my sock subscription from Rita @ Spinnwebstube I couldn't wait to dive right into the project and wanted to knit the socks in broken seed stitch.

So before I began, I thought I would try and figure out a new way of casting on my toes - which worked and looked great, but I wasn't completely happy with them so I ripped them out!

I then cast them on again and started with the broken seed stitch pattern which I liked (above left), but wasn't in love with - so I ripped them out!

When I saw everyone casting on and knitting their Fine and Dandy socks, I fell in love with the pattern and knew then that this is what was meant for these yarns!

I merrily cast on with the pattern and knit away instead of using my usual stitch count for toe-up which resulted in me being not totally convinced about the pointy toe, but besides that I love the pattern, and love these two yarns together!

drops eskimo

This is a new cat basket for our new lounge :)

I am using Drops Eskimo to knit this basket and it is also a Drops pattern for a dogs blanket, but I don't think our furry family members will mind a bit of bigger comfort!

The pattern is some great TV knitting as it is rather mindless and worked in short-rows which I love :)

Reading wise: So many good titles are waiting to be read, but I just do not have the time or energy to read them right now, which is really sad, I do hope to change that. Last year I went way over my total of books read in my challenge, this year I haven't even managed to read one book :O

Do you ever feel like that?

I will be sharing this post with all of my weekly creative friends, so do hop on over there and be inspired!

See you soon.
