FO Friday Fun

zigzagular socks

This week I have managed to complete my Zigzagular socks.
I made them with Drops Fabel and altered the pattern slightly by creating a Boomerang Heel, instead of a heel flap.
I am wearing them today and they are a great fit and very comfortable.
The pattern is really fun and helps the socks to grow quite quickly.

Now it is your turn.

What have you completed this week?

Solitary Projects

Today will be a very short post as I don't have very much new stuff to share with you all.

Above you see the socks for Jas. I have managed to finish my socks and will share them with you on Friday. Since then, in the little time that I have to knit, I have cast these on and am progressing with the cuffs (I apologize for the blurry pic, sometimes my cell phone just won't do as I say!)

I hope there will be a little more to show you next week!

As we are having quite a good spell weather wise, we are powering forward on our renovations :)
We are almost dry and covered again!

When I am not busy helping hubby on the house, I am creating goodies for my upcoming winter market.

This is such a busy time for me, as I am sure for everyone, but this year I really feel like I am burning the candle at both ends!

Are you feeling like this too?

I can't wait to get going with my Shawl-Along next Monday.

Will you be joining in the fun?

You still have a little time and I would love to have you shawl-along with me :)

Reading Wise: I am still busy with the same title as last week

I wish you all a great rest of your week.

Do come back on Friday and share your FOs with me, I would love to see what you have managed to finish.

I will be sharing this with my wonderful weekly creative friends, so head over there and be inspired :)

See you soon.

Limestone garnstudio

This week I have managed to finish Hubby's Cap.
It was a really easy knit and I like the combination of the Drops Fabel with the Drops Alpaca.
It feels like a nice warm cap to wear in the upcoming cold!

What did you manage to finish this week?
Feel free to share your finished objects below :)

Have a great weekend.

Stuck in a Corner

Wow this week is going by really quickly and with it the progress on our upstairs :)

Because our home is very small right now, this reno is impending greatly on our freedom to move around the house, let alone find a corner to sit alone!

The floors are filled with sawdust and the walls have gapping holes in them, but I wouldn't want to miss it for the world!

The whole process is totally inspiring, yesterday we watched as they lifted all the wooden raw-build onto our old roof with a crane.
Luckily the weather has been kind to us this week, and if all goes well, we should be watertight by the beginning of next week :)

This week I have had to take my photos on the kitchen unit so I do apologize in advance for all blurring and over-lighting that has happened as a result!

zigzagular socks

My zigzagular socks are reaching their end and I am just about to start with the toe caps.

ben lomond gloves

Hubby's Fingerless gloves have been started and I will be continuing them as I get a moment when he is not around :)

classy slip-up

As soon as my socks are completed I will be starting another Christmas stocking filler - these are for Jas :) The Classy Slip-Up pattern looks like a really nice knit and I look forward to starting them shortly.

gloves

My glove order is growing slowly, I am almost at the thumb gusset. I just realized that it almost looks like the one hand only has four fingers, but this is not so :)

Hubby's Cap is finished and I will share it with you on Friday.

I hope some of you will consider joining us for our Shawl-Along happening in December?

There is still time to come and join in!
You can find out more HERE

Reading Wise: I have started a new title, a thriller this time, Near Death

Wintry Wednesdays

Wow, suddenly winter is here!
Snow is expected tomorrow which is wonderful - NOT!
I'll tell you why:

We have started with our home renovations, last Friday to be exact. We are putting in a new floor upstairs and as Murphy would have it, as soon as they removed the roof the wind howled, the rain came gushing down and now we have a prediction of snow!!!

At the moment the only thing between us and the elements is a little piece of plastic :O
I really love winter but I would be grateful if it gave us just one more week of dry weather so we can put our roof back on!
All in all though it is really exciting and I can't wait until the new roof goes up and the girls finally have a good room each :)

To keep my mind off things I am knitting furiously and have quite a couple of projects going as well as a new Shawl-Along KAL taking place here on the Blog and Ravelry in November!

shawl-along

Doesn't that yarn look yummy?
This is "Gletscher" and it is what I will be knitting my shawl with.

Andrea from Wollehimmel is offering all her gorgeous gradient yarns at a special price for the KAL so do meander over to her shop and check out all the yarny-yumminess!

I would love it if you came along and joined in the fun!
You can find out all about the Shawl-Along HERE

I will be introducing the KAL in a Periscope on Friday (16. October) at 14:00 CET and I would love it if some of you came by and joined me :)

@Marigoldsloft

As for this week's WIPs let me show you where I am at:

garnstudio limestone

This is hubby's cap. It is almost at the length to start the decreases and I hope to get there soon :)
It is a really easy, mindless pattern and is great for TV knitting. I will not be changing the Drops Alpaca in this pattern but will be leaving it at the two-tone as it is in the photo above. The combination of the two yarns - Fabel and Alpaca - give it a really nice squishiness.

zigzagular

My Zigzagular socks are growing again :)
I have just finished the heel flap where I used a boomerang heel instead of the conventional heel used in the pattern and I have since managed another two rounds of pattern.

With the cold weather coming up I am looking forward to being able to use these soon!

Hubby has birthday in less than a month so I decided, rather late, to make him another pair of Ben Lomond gloves. He loves these gloves, this is pair number three, and he loves Drops Baby Merino, so this time I am making him a dark brown pair :)

I have finally finished my Under The Same Sky Shawl and will share it with you all on Friday.

Reading-Wise: I am still busy with the same title as last week and still enjoying the book.

What have you been up to this week?

I will be sharing this post with all my weekly creative friends so pop on over there for some super inspiration :)

See you soon - don't forget to join the Shawl-Along :)

November Shawl-Along (KAL)

shawl-along with Marigolds' Loft

I would like to officially invite you all to come on over and join in my shawl-along KAL that will begin on the 2nd November 2015 and will run until 13th December 2015.

What will we be knitting you ask?

We will be knitting the Misae Shawl by Alexandra Wiedmayer

Over the weekend, at the Festival I met Andrea from Wollehimmel in Germany.
Her yarns are gorgeous gradient yarns that have been wound with various shawl projects in mind.

She had knitted a version of the Misae in her Wolke 7-Gletscher (see below in the next image :)) and I fell in love with it instantaneously.

I thought that this would be a great idea for a KAL!

The cake of yarn is just enough to complete the project and comes in a gorgeous variety of colours - Have a look:

The names of her yarns are so fitting too!
Here is a close up of the yarns she has ready to knit-up for the Misae

She also has loads of other colour combinations available so if you don't find something that tickles your fancy here, visit her shop for some more :)

Andrea has been so good as to offer all of you wanting to take part in the KAL a discount on her Wolke 7 Yarn.

Over the next couple of weeks, you can order your yarn through her at a 5 % discount
(This offer is only valid as long as there is stock)

Each of her cakes of yarn come with the cute label "Himmlisch schön - selbstgemacht -" which translated means "Heavenly - handmade-" Very fitting for her Cloud 7 yarns don't you think ;)

To grab yourself your cake of incredible Wolke 7 yarn follow this link and be sure to enter the discount code: MisaeKAL2015 at Check-out!

USA and Abroad - Please note: Those of you who are purchasing from the US and abroad need to order your yarn asap from Andrea to receive it before the KAL begins. Be aware that it is possible to experience postal delays for which she is not responsible!

To join in the KAL all you need to do is grab yourself a copy of the Misae Shawl (available in English and German), get yourself some yarn (if you would like to knit the shawl in your own choice of yarn, that is awesome too, feel free to come on over and join in the fun of just knitting together :)), and join us :)

How do you sign up?

Jump over to Ravelry and join my group :)

If you speak German and would like to knit with us come along, if you have trouble with understanding English, I will open a German speaking thread for you to chat along in German!

You can also share your photos on Instagram with the Hashtag #inthecloudskal

And guess what?
There will be something to win at the end of the KAL too - Whoo!

I can't wait to see all of your amazing shawls.

I look forward to meeting you all.
