Tunisian Fridays....

tunisian crochet course

I am having so much fun picking up the skills necessary to master Tunisian Crochet.

Tunisian Crochet on Craftsy

The Craftsy course is wonderful, and as a knitter and crocheter I am finding it very easy to pick up the stitches and the know-how.

So far I have completed project 1 - a uni-colour Washcloth

tunisian wash cloth Drops Muskat

And project 2 - a three coloured washcloth:

tunisian crochet craftsy course

I am so excited to start project 3 - the multi-garment :)

multigarment tunisian crochet course

Doesn't it look awesome?

I can't wait to get started - this garment can be worn in various different ways (I think about 8 ways in total if I am correct!!)

I have already worked out my palette of colours for my project (Jennifer teaches you how to do this in some great simple steps - so if you like me are not capable of finding great combinations of colours for all kinds of projects - this would be something great for you too :))

These are my colours I am aiming for:
multigarment

I have ordered my yarn and am going to be going with Drops Cotton Merino.
I have chosen  to go with these colours:

Drops Cotton Merino

What do you think?
Do you think it will work?
I haven't used Drops Cotton Merino yet so I am hoping it will be the right yarn for the project!

I hope the garment will hang nicely and will keep you updated on the progress :)

What have you completed this week?
If you would like to link up your finished projects below, feel free to do so.

Meeting Blogging Friends and WIP Fun

tin heart

Today I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting a fellow blogger - Regula from Babajezas Wundertüte.

It was so great to finally get to meet her and she is just as lovely as her blog. I have been following her blog for a long time now and we have so many things in common :) She happened to be travelling through a nearby town and asked if I would like to meet up. I was thrilled to have the opportunity and couldn't wait until this afternoon.

I wondered if we would find each other in the mass of people and Regula said she was sure we would. As soon as I saw her I knew it was her and she felt the same!

It was like meeting an old friend.

We had a wonderful chat and coffee, the sun even came out to play!

She gifted me the beautiful heart you see above, isn't it gorgeous?

Thank you so much Regula for the delightful afternoon, I look forward to seeing you again soon :)

And now a quick peek at my WIP from this week:

wristwarmers

This is the second wristwarmer which I started to knit last on the spur of the moment with some rest yarn I have from the socks I knit for hubby. They were originally thought to be a pair for him as his workshop is very cold even now, but the first wristwarmer turned out a little tight, not a problem I think they are cool and will be keeping this pair for myself and will create a different pair for hubby :)

And now some more on the awesome Craftsy Course I am taking at the moment!

If you recall, last week I told you I was starting the Tunisian Crochet Course last week. Well, I am loving it. I have finished the first project (will share the FO on Friday) and am busy on the second project and am nearly done, maybe this will also be a FO for Friday :)

Tunisian Crochet on Craftsy

I can't wait to get onto the next project which is the multi-garment :)
Now to order some cool yarn ;)

I wish you all a good week,
See you soon.

I will be sharing this post with my lovely Wednesday folk :)

Sockalicious FOs - Joining in the Friday Fun :)

sock knitting Drops Fabel

This week I have managed to finish off two pairs of socks :)

That sounds amazing, but when you realize that one pair is only about 9cm long it isn't that extraordinary, but it was still great fun to knit them none-the-less!

Above you see hubby's finished pair of socks. This is the first of a couple of pairs I promised to knit him throughout this year, and I do hope that I manage to get all of the pairs done.

I have chosen quite a couple of variations of Drops Fabel Print - variegated yarn - as I hope that this will enable me to do some mindless sock knitting, but I am rather afraid that I will get bored, so I am already contemplating some kind of patterning for the upcoming pairs!

Next up:

I have loved knitting these cutie pie socks!
Not only are they tiny (size 12/18 months) but I absolutely loved to knit them in Drops Baby Merino.
This was the first project I have knit with that yarn, it is absolutely divine to knit with, soft, and wonderful! Luckily for me, when ordering the yarn for this project I also ordered some of the yarn for a project for myself, which I now can't wait to start :)

On the other side of my crafty life - I have been soaping like a wild woman over the last couple of days in an attempt to have some soaps ready for the second Suitcase Market I will be attending.

I am having a lot of fun coming up with new soap creations and love seeing if they turn out how I expect them too :)

What knitted/crocheted projects did you manage to complete this week?

Have a super weekend.

Warmth and Sunshine

WIP Wednesdays

Today is finally warm - yeah!

At the moment we are sitting at 24°C and have even had some delightful sunshine! I am not holding my breath though as rainy weather has been forecast for later in the week. To be quite honest, after one day of this wonderful hayfever, spring rain seems like a wonderful relief - yes, I am a wuss, I can't bear this scratchy, puffy eye, runny nose and itchy skin - it is driving me insane!!!

Best to stay inside and knit ;)

Let me get on to this week's WIPs:

First up - Hubby's socks from last week have already been promoted to an FO and will be shared with you all on Friday :)

I am so enjoying my baby socks

Drops baby merino

I am loving the yarn I am using as well as knitting the incredibly small socks :) It feels awesome to achieve a sock in 2 days and am already on the foot of sock number 2, so I am counting on theses being FOs for Friday too.

As much as I am enjoying the socks, I can't wait to finish them so I can get onto learning a new skill.

Craftsy Tunisian Crochet

If you recall last week I was telling you about starting to learn tunisian crochet through Craftsy.

Well, my hooks have arrived and as soon as I am done with the baby socks I will be diving into the first project of this course - I can't wait :)

I will probably be starting the next cap I plan for Jas in conjunction with the crochet so that I can manage to get through some of my predestined, ordered stash, as I have so many awesome projects in my queue!

Watch this space for more :)

On the reading front: Nothing has changed and I am slowly, very slowly, reading the same book as I have been for the last couple of weeks.

I wish you all a good rest of the week.
Thanks so much for visiting.
See you again tomorrow and on Friday :)

P.S: I will be sharing this with all my lovely creative Wednesday Friends :)

Awesome Crochet Fun!

 Bob Marley Slouch

What a fun little project this was!
Kay wanted a slouch cap and I found this one on Ravelry
It was a bit of guess work as it didn't state how much yarn you actually need for this project but I decided to wing it as it is really cute and I wanted to get a new crochet project under way.
I did end up using a different hook size and had to tweak the pattern a little by adding a couple more rounds here and there. Kay loves it and I am thrilled by how it turned out.

What FO do you have to share this week?

Have a great weekend.

Winters Back - time for some Winter Woolies!

WIP Wednesdays

I can't believe that winter has returned!
A farmer told me last autumn that we would have a long winter and by the looks of things it seems to be exactly that way.
We could be having snow tonight :O
Can you believe it, and that in the middle of May!
Luckily I haven't even ventured into our garden yet, so I am not cursing under my breath :)

A knitters dream - so I am back on the winter woolies search :)

Let me update you on my WIPs for this week.

cuff down sock

I am on the foot and am looking forward to finishing this pair off so that I can have my full focus for other little projects that I have planned.

Now onto two projects I hope to have on the needles later this week:

First off this cute ribbed baby socks for a friends new little baby :)

This cap is the next project I will be working on for Jas - she might be needing it sooner than later!

crochet project

Next - this is what is left of an awesome little crochet project I whipped up over the weekend whilst watching the Eurovision contest.
I will show you the finished FO on Friday.

Did you watch Eurovision?
If so who was your favourite country?

Feeling quite patriotic this year :)
I loved the Swiss entry this year and am sad that they didn't get a little higher in their scoring.
Here is the entry for your pleasure:

Over the weekend Craftsy had a Flash sale so I had to get me a course ;)
I chose to learn how to work Tunisian Crochet.

Tunisian Crochet

I have ordered my hooks and can't wait to get started!

Have you worked Tunisian crochet before?

I wish you all a productive, warm rest of your week.
See you Friday.
