Perfect Crafting Sunday

You must agree with me, I have the perfect conditions today to sit inside, and Craft away. Good thing too, as I have sooooo much to get finished and so much more to start on.

I am just about done with my "Pay it Forward" Gifts, but I do need to crack on if I want them out of the door by the end of this week ;)
Other than that, I still have a whack of books to read for the Fall into Reading Challenge that I am taking part in....so I really can't say that I am bored, or have nothing to do :)

On other news, earlier this week, we had nice weather and I could get a pretty good picture of the hanging bridge in its' finishing stages. They are almost done, I will take a photo again as soon as it is finished.

Psssssst - Let me let you in on a secret....October will be filled with loads of cool new things here on Marigolds' Loft so come back often. Better yet, become a follower for easy updates!

Are you wanting to take part in the coolest event this Festive Season?
Are you creative in some way?
Then come and take part in my Secret Santa Handmade Swap. You still have 15 Days to sign up!

It would be great if I could get this to become a huge event. For that I appreciate all of your support.

Have a great Sunday.....

Secret Santa Handmade Swap

piZap.com free online photo editor, fun photo effects
I know this is no FO but I really want to share - it is Handmade LOL!

Well folks it is already almost that time of the year again - YEAH! Don't be scared, it is fun!

If you are wanting to make handmade goodies I am guessing that you, like myself, have already started, otherwise there will be no chance of getting them into the Christmas stockings in time!

This year I wanted to start something that would go around the World.
What better way to do it than with a Swap!
With this in mind, I am kicking off my Secret Santa Handmade Swap today.
I hope many of you will be taking part, tell your friends, the more the merrier!
Whoever has a blog is eligible to take part.

Please help me to make this event World Wide and Awesome!!!!!

The rules to this Swap:

  1. You need to be a follower of my Blog.
  2. You need to own a Blog.
  3. You need to be willing to send the parcel World-Wide!
  4. You need to be willing to spend between $10 and $15 on the raw materials for your project.
  5. Your project may not exceed $15.
  6. Your project must be handmade by you.
  7. If you sign up for this Swap, you are giving me your personal pledge that you will also send your Swap partner a gift. (I have been a part of Swaps where poor folk taking part have sent their Swaps off never to receive one in return, this is a real tragedy)
  8. Admissions for the Swap close on the 15th October 2012
  9. Your parcel needs to be ready to ship by the 20th November 2012.
  10. I need all parties to send their partners a tracking number once their Parcel has been shipped for their reference.
  11. Please add one of the buttons below to your sidebars and/or posts.

If you have decided that you can't miss out on such a Fantastic Event ;), you need to leave a comment below.
Please also send me an Email so that I have your contact details.
In the mail I would appreciate it if you send me your postal addy, and let me know a little about yourself - colours you like, or don't like, etc.

Keep in mind that this tidbit of info you send me will in turn be sent to your Secret Santa so that they can create the perfect gift for you, so include as much info as you feel the need to (I will exclude blog names when sending it to your partners as that detail will be kept quiet till the Reveal day.) If you feel the need to contact your partner, please keep your blog details secret until then.

You can blog about your progress all you like, but just don't let on who your Secret Santa recipient is.

You may include all your details in your parcel. Once the parcels have been received by their recipients, it will be Reveal day, which if all works out how I hope it will, should all start to happen around December 20th, just in time for the Festive season!

Then all the Secret Santas will have the opportunity to reveal their identities (if your Secret Santa Recipient hasn't figured it out once they open their parcel ;-)) and also brag about what they received :-D.

Questions? Feel free to ask them below or Email them to me.

I look forward to a wonderfully enriching event with all of you in the www.

5 Elements of Fascination

What a wonderful Autumny day we are having. Overcast and the perfect weather for sitting down and focusing on some of my projects, and planning new ones for next week :-D
What are my 5 Elements of Fascination you may ask, let me count them down for you.
Number 1:
Sock number 1 is finished and looking good. I do think that I will be keeping this sock as a trial sock though, as then I can refer back to it to see where I made mistakes and where I can better myself at the process of Fair Isle, so I will be keeping it in its' raw state - loose ends and all :)
Number 2:
I finally managed to get passed the ribbing on Jas's Pullover - YEAH! So now it  can only move quickly. Now that I am on to the stocking stitch part I am really enjoying this knit and have spent most of my time this week on this project.
Number 3:

I am joining in with Callipidder Days Fall into Reading Challenge. I think it is the ideal way to boost my reading in the next couple of months.
I have started on my long list and am reading and listening to two books to make a dent :-)
On my Ereader: Abandon by Meg Cabot
Number 4:

See this Tea-light Candle Holder? Would you like to know how I made it?
Now you can! Not only have I made a Photo-Tutorial of exactly how it is made, BUT, I have also made a Video showing you how to do it. Here is the Video for you to watch, I would love to hear your comments, as I loved putting the video together and hope to make many more of them over the next months.

Number 5:

I am searching for a Blogswap Partner. What is that you say? You can read all about it here.
So those are my 5 Elements of Fascination for today.

I will be sharing this post with the Link-Ups I have listed

Blogswap for a Day with Me......

piZap.com free online photo editor, fun photo effects
I would love to do a blogswap with someone for a day.
What do I mean by that?
I would love to swap blog posts. In other words, I would host a blog-post from my Blogswap Partner and they would host my blog-post on their blog for the day. It would work like writing a guest post on each other's blog.
Who could take part?
Well, I think it would have to be someone who shares similar interests with me as we would have the same kind of followers.
So, someone who enjoys knitting, crochet, sewing, or just being creative.
What would the post have to be about?
It would be interesting for each party to be free in whatever they want to post about. I would very much like to have a Blogswap Partner who enjoys putting together tutorials and would maybe do so for the swap. I would like my readers to also find out about you, what you do, what your blog is about etc.
What would be the point of it?
We would both get exposure from each others' "Blogspheres", be introduced to new people and it would be FUN!
Would you be up for this challenge?
If you would like to become my Blogswap Partner for a day, please send me an email. In the email, please include a link to your blog and give me an idea of what you would like to post about on my Blog for the day.
I can't wait to hear from you - My Blogswap Partner - Let the fun begin :-)

5 Minutes to a Creative Tea Light Candle Holder - With How-To Video

Here is a quick and easy way to create a gorgeous Tea Light Holder to enhance your table setting or to create a warm atmosphere on a centre piece. It takes less than 5 minutes to create and looks wonderful.
I use Gonis Decor Universal Paint colours, as these paints are universal, can be easily mixed with one another, and when I want to change my Tea-Light design, are easily removed. I have a small home, if I had to collect all the Tea-Light Holders that I decorate for each season, I would have to consider building an extension!

You will need:
A Clear, Glass Tea Light Holder (I am using Gonis Mini Windlichter)
Gonis Universal Colours (2 Different colours)
Gonis EisKristal (Glass crystals)
Using the Gonis Decor randomly cover the inside of your Tea-Light Holder.
Using the second colour, randomly make some squiggles in the Tea-Light Holder.
Use your finger and run it around the inside of the glass mixing the two colours slightly.
Sprinkle the inside of the Tea-Light with the glass crystals and swirl the holder around to cover all the surfaces.
Done :-)
Allow to dry and then place your tea-light candle into the holder and experience the wonder!
If you have any questions to the products or to the end product, please feel free to ask away or Mail me your questions.
Music in Video: Medicine Woman - Medwyn Goodall.
Here is my First Ever YouTube Video to show you exactly how it is done:
Please Subscribe if you like it.
I will be producing more movies in the future! :-D

Family Crafting on Sundays

Today the girls and I sat down to create some multi-purpose bins. As you can see, mine is getting used as a "Project Bin" and the girls created some paper bins for their bedrooms.
Here are some views from all the sides, I love each of them, crafting is so individual and the girls put their own expression in each of theirs.

See you soon
