The title should read Wet Tuesdays as I am posting this on Tuesday and I only realized that I had made a mistake about 2 hours after posting it, oh well, I'll have another Wednesday tomorrow then shall I?
My WIP image is rather monotone this week - I will have to do something about that!
Let me tell you about my progress from this week:
I have knit a couple more rows on these but haven't progressed extremely far just yet.
If you recall last week I announced that I was going to begin knitting my Grandpa Cardie with all my balls of Drops Muskat (100% Egyptian Cotton) instead of the called for 100% Wool.
I did actually cast on, and had this gnawing feeling in my stomach that I shouldn't knit the project in the cotton.
Anyway, I ended up starting the cardigan a couple of times and actually decided to make a (are you sitting down for this?) SWATCH, yip, something I vowed never to do!
Alas, even that didn't help, I just didn't see myself getting to my happy place with that pattern and this yarn!
So there was nothing for it than to peruse through Ravelry and Garnstudio to find a fitting pattern for the yarn.
I eventually did find one and am quite happy with my choice thus far!
I have chosen to make Peach Macaroon, a Garnstudio Pattern, that is made with Drops Muskat. So a perfect fit for my yarn, and I think I have more yarn than I will be needing to complete this project which is also a bonus!
I did hit a snag though when it came to the initial Raglan increases.
The pattern calls for markers included in the increase and I am so used to seeing the pattern state where you need to move the marker, that for quite a while I just sat here staring at the pattern wondering how I was supposed to make the increases asked for!
Thank goodness the internet is filled with wonderfully talented Drops lovers, who managed to help me overcome my mind block and move on my way :)
I am really enjoying this knit at the present moment, although there are quite a couple of charts to follow simultaneously.
My scarf project at work is moving forward nicely. The image above is the beginning stages of the warp, but I have progressed quite a bit since this photo was taken and should be completing the first of the three scarves I plan to make this week.
I will share another image with you next week again.
Reading Wise: I have just started "The Sunbird" by Wilbur Smith. I haven't read enough to form an opinion but hope to be able to do that soon.
These lovely books arrived in the post last week.
I am not usually a knit pattern book kind of person, but I couldn't resist these two lovelies - Botanical Knits. I have already chosen some gorgeous projects out of them to make in the very near future so stay tuned :)
I wish you all a warmer week than we are having right now (it feels like we are heading back into winter today :(, not so much fun!)
See you again next time.
