Featured Crafters this February.

Featured crafters on Marigolds' Loft

Thank you to all you lovely crafters that linked up their stuff over the past month.
The challenge for February was St. Patrick's Day and those of you who contributed with a craft in this theme are featured below. I can't wait to see what you all come with in the next month's challenge :)

St. Patrick's day is not something all of us celebrate and the challenge was not as easy as some of the otherwise very commercial monthly celebrations so I was thrilled to visit the links from:

Hannah @ Sew, Lah, Tea Dough shared this cute craft on stuffed Shamrocks

Stuffed shamrocks

as well as this amazing sounding Mint Chocolate Cupcakes!

St. Patrick's Day Mint Chocolate Cupcakes

Gail @ Purple Hues and Me shared this cute Beaded Shamrock Craft

Thank you so much ladies for sharing your wonderful, inspirational St. Paddy's Day crafts with us all.

Please feel free to grab yourselves a featured button for this month :)

Seifen Paradies

I would to Introduce you to my newest Bloggy Creation - Seifen Paradies.

It is a blog that I have started as a "Shop Window" for my local friends who enjoy my soap and products and would like to purchase some of them.

It is still a Work-In-Progress but it is getting there.

I would feel very privileged if you went by to have a look and helped spread the word should you live in Switzerland :)

Have a great start to your week.

Other FOs

repoussé pewter work

I haven't posted an FO in a while (well besides the first of the year last week :)), so today I thought I would try and catch up on some of my finished objects which I have made over the last while.

First up is my Pewter Work.
Above was a photo album gift for a friend of mine who has just had a new little baby.
The one below is a notebook which is a birthday gift:

This is a batch of Vanilla, Lemon and Poppy Seed which I made on January 1st 2014 :)

This is my batch "Heaven" which I made at the beginning of December. Within the first 2 weeks of this batch being made I was sold out - it is my favourite bar up till now :)

I have also created some Body Butter Candles and Bath Fizzers but have already sold out of those so I will need to make more shortly!

Under the weather...

South African Bath Salts

Since Saturday I have been down with a wonderful bout of stomach bug - don't you just hate that kind of sick feeling, where you would like to wrench your guts out just to get rid of the complete discomfort that you need to endure!

Well I am back on my feet now and the positive result of this flu is that I am still not able to drink coffee - Yeah - I mean there is no way to do a cold turkey like to have it make you want to gag just by the smell :)
So far no excessive headaches, I am feeling great!

Needless to say, I have done no knitting or crafting whatsoever and so I thought I would bend you ear about something else today.

proudly south african

My friend Irma, kindly gave me a container full of these great South African Bath Salts to try out and since I was feeling like I was, I thought I would give them a go.

South African Baths Salts

They were super. I used 4 Tablespoons in a hot bath and allowed myself to soak in the warm water for at least 15 minutes. As the salts contain mustard extract as well as eucalyptus, not only did it help release my tense muscles but allowed me to have an amazing nights sleep.

Once I finished the bath, I had a quick shower to rinse off the rest of the salts, and jumped into bed. I felt wonderfully revitalized in the morning which always makes you feel almost human again :)

For all of those saffers out there looking for a bit of home, these salts (which are usually distributed by Dischem only) are available from Irma (she lives in Switzerland) but she only has a limited supply so if you are interested grab yours now!

If you are looking for a great muscle relaxing, flu-easing warm bath salt, then give these a go :)
You can get more info or your container full through Irma

How has your week been thus far?

Ravellenic FOs and Other Wooly Stuff :)

Drops Eskimo

This year I took part in the Ravellenics again and had an extremely easy event this year.
We, Knitting Madness Team, took part in the event - Socks and Felting.
We all had the choice of one of 4 Drops Slipper patterns that we could knit and then Felt.
My choice was this pattern:

Drops Slippers

These looked so cute so I wanted to try my hand at making them.

This is them pre-felting

After the first wash - still huge.

I must honestly say that I do have mixed feelings about these finished slippers!
They turned out to be extra big, so I washed them again.

After second wash and adorned with a pompom they look a lot nicer and fit a lot better :)

Onto some other FOs :)
I recently did another Craftsy Course - Mittens and Gloves Galore.

Online Knitting Class

Now I know you may know that I have created a couple of mitten patterns in the past, so you may be asking yourself why I would want to do this course if I can already knit mittens?

Well, it is pretty simple, you can never learn enough, yes I have my own techniques to knitting mittens, but my technique is definitely not the only one and I would like to try other peoples ways of working through a glove/mitten pattern.

I loved this course, it offers so much to any knitter looking to knit some gloves.

You get a 5-in-1 pattern which helps you to create unlimited possibilities in the glove department, from fingerless mitts, to fingered gloves it is all there for you and the instructor Marly Bird is great! She is friendly and pleasant to listen to.

Using Marly's instructions I created a wonderful warm set of gloves for Jas which was great and just in time for the sudden cold winter we have been experiencing as of late.

Craftsy Course Gloves

Marly offers another couple of glove pattern options which I will be making soon and will share with you when completed :)

And so my Craftsy Love Relationship continues making this class number 13 - ooooh boy!

How many Craftsy Courses have you, or are you attending at the moment?
What FOs are you finished with this week?

Have a great weekend, and a happy Valentines Day to all.

Wednesdays and Winners

WIP Wednesdays

Wow, this working full week is not so much tiring as exhausting!
I am finding that I come home and plop down on my sofa and don't want to move until I have to go and lie on my soft bed and close my eyes!
That doesn't mean that my mind isn't working and I am planning projects and trying to keep myself busy on the weekends at least :)

Last Friday the Ravellenics started and I have spent the weekend working on my event slippers, which are now done and I will share them with you all on Friday as my FO for this week among other things ;)

I haven't done any work on hubby's pullover this week and do hope to get back to this project soon as I am close to starting on the arms which is always a signal of the end spurt for me!

I have ordered a stand for my rigid heddle so that I can get into my weaving big time (I haven't been able to do too much weaving thus far as I am always having to place it on the dining table, making space very limited indeed, so I do hope the floor stand will help with this and get me going on a year of weaving projects!)

As I hope it will arrive shortly I am working on a scarf project using the yarn below - watch this space for more :)

And now for some fun news!

knobbly, bobbly bag

I had so many awesome ladies take part in the Mystery KAL, just look at the lovely FOs above!
One of them has won themselves a new Drops printed pattern book as soon as it is available......and that one person is........

Random generator winner

Welldone Diva100 - you have won - I will be contacting you shortly.

I do hope you will all be sharing your creativeness tomorrow on the linky party I look forward to featuring your posts this month.

As for me, my bed is calling (what is is only 6:00pm!)
I will see you all again soon :)
Thanks for visiting and have a great rest of your week.

P.S. I am sharing this post with all my usual Wednesday Ladies :)
