Busy Bees

bees

A really quick update today :)
I am not too much further on my WIP from last week so I won't bore you with a similar picture to last week.

Here is a picture of my bees - see how busy they have been?
They seem to be settling in wonderfully and have been working on creating new life!

The ladies look really healthy and I will be having another look in the hive on Friday when I will update you again.

I hope you are having a good week.
See you soon.

Crochet Wednesday

Tunisian Crochet

What are you up to on this lovely Wednesday?

I can't believe another school year is just about over, what will you be doing over your summer break?

I will be doing the usual I guess, knitting, crocheting, weaving and learning from Craftsy ;)

There may be some other awesome things happening but I will tell you about them as they happen.

Onto this week's WIP:

I am still busy with my Tunisian Crochet Multi-garment from last week and am just about finished with the first panel.

craftsy tunisian crochet

I am actually loving the colour combination now that it is getting bigger and can't wait to see the full garment in all it's glory!

This is the only project I am working on right now although I am seriously considering casting on another Bolero (I have the yarn already stashed and think it will be a delightful, useful top to compliment my holiday wardrobe at the beach this year :) at the same time, as my time is just about running out to have it ready before we go!

But then again, maybe I will just take thins Multi-garment along for the ride and try it in all it's variations ;)

Reading Wise: I am working my way through my bee course books. I must admit it is much easier going when you actually have a hive to refer to!

What have you been up to this week?

See you again soon.

Loads to Share Wednesday

Drops cotton merino

Wow, what a filled week this has been.....where to start?
I guess the beginning is as good a place as any so let me begin with this week's WIP.

If you recall at the end of May I showed you my colour palette for this project and it included a gorgeous brown in the mix.

Well, once the yarn arrived (I had ordered a couple of extra colours just incase) half of the family declared that the brown must go - :( I really liked it but obliged, as well as swapping the light purple for a more happy pinky purple.

So it went from this palette:

to this palette:

colour palette number 2

So far I am liking the project and loving the Tunisian crochet!

I am progressing nicely - which is really easy to do with these great teachers at our disposal on Craftsy :D

I look forward to seeing this project in its finishing stages as I am still not entirely convinced about the new colours :O

What do you think of them?
To much like what granny would wear?

I hope to show you more of this project shortly as I have already been progressing through the first couple lessons of my new acquired course:

Online Crochet Class

I know, I know, but can one ever have enough knowledge and Craftsy courses?

I think not!

I am trying to decide on a great yarn for this project and class and will let you know once I have decided :)

Onto other news - great news!

bees

Bees in hive

Yes, I managed, with the help of my dear hubby, to safely get a swarm that had settled on a neighbours property inside my hive.
They seem to like it there and I am feeling a little in love I must tell you.
I go out to visit them every day and will fill you in with more details once I have had a good peek inside to make sure everyone is happy.

And lastly: Over the weekend I attended a suitcase market. It would have been more fun had I not been suffering from a bad bout of hayfever. I could barely get the words "Hello, how are you" out before I started sneezing my head off.

Yesterday I had had enough of this situation and went to the chemist to get some hard stuff that suppresses everything :) I must say that I am enjoying feeling human again without having to keep one eye closed and both hands on a pack of tissues! I won't stop with the herbal remedies, but it is good to know I will have some anti-histamines on hand should this flare up again! (I really am not such a wuss, but I really did get the feeling over the weekend that I was either going to rip my skin off with my bare hands, or I was going to gorge my eyes out!)

So how has your week been so far?
What have you been up to?

Reading wise: I am reading......... absolutely nothing right now and that feels good for the moment!

I wish you all a good week.
See you again soon.

P.S: I will be sharing over with all my lovely Wednesday ladies :)

Wet Wednesdays

Drops Cotton Merino

Today's post will be rather short and is rather late, sorry about that. I have been suffering from quite a headache today :( I think it is because of the continually changing weather, one day bright and sunny, next cold and wet - like today!

I ended up coming home a little earlier because of it and was wonderfully surprised to find a parcel from my favourite LYS outside my door. It contains all the yarn necessary to get going on my Multi-garment that I told you about on Friday, so as soon as my head clears a little I will be diving right into this project :)

A little secret birdie has told me that Craftsy will be having a huge summer sale that starts tomorrow and runs until Monday! You will be able to grab yourself some awesome courses for up to 50% off so be sure to visit there in the morning and be in awe of the cool stuff you will get to learn!

I plan to be getting myself this course as I am falling in love with the simplicity and ease of the various types of crochet!

Online Crochet Class

What craft would you like to learn?
What course will you be getting / did you get?

On to this week's WIP.
As some of you may know, I am going to be a vendor at a Suitcase market on Saturday this week. It is my first market and I will be selling my soaps and pewter crafts. As an addition to the soaps I thought it would be nice to offer some Soap Savers (Bags) that will fit my soaps nicely.

This is the latest one which I started earlier:

soap bag Drops Cotton

Believe it or not, this one is actually blue!

I will show you all the completed soap savers on Friday as my FO for this week.

I wish you all a creative week.
See you on Friday.

I will be sharing this with all the wonderful Wednesday people :)
