So, I have taken photos of some of my work that I have been busy with. I have been meaning to do this for the longest time and now that I have eventually got around to it, I would like to share them with you all.

These are the finished pieces:

The winter caps for the girls, these were a breeze to knit, I finished one a day, I love that!!

 

Work in Progress:

I am busy knitting a pullover for my hubby, it has turned out to be quite fun actually. I had premonitions of me having to cut it up and throw it away, but I have had no problems with it at all - Maybe I am at the right age to knit this......the last time I knit a mans' pullover it took me 4 1/2 years and ended up having the neck on one shoulder...would have been perfect for Quasimodo!!!

 

 

 

Have started on the sleeves so the pulli should be finished shortly, will keep you updated!

My View Today

Well, it has been snowing for the last couple of days which has been great, I much prefer the snow to the rain.....so I have taken a couple of photos of my view. It really is so romantic and Europey :-D

Thuner Fasnacht

At last, back inside the warmth of my home. Sitting here with a wonderful cup of coffee, warming my hands and feet.

Today we went to the "Thuner Fastnacht" which is a tradition of the region that we live in. I wanted to share our day with you as it is something that you really have had to see, at least once!

Fasnacht is a carnival, and it has it's roots from the middle ages. It usually takes places about 7 weeks before Easter, and used to be the big festival before they would enter their fast, or Lent.

It is celebrated with much enjoyment, music, glühwein and masquerade. All the various clubs from this area and further take part in a walk through the town, playing their music and dressing up.

I have many pictures to share so that you can see what it was like. Unfortunately some of them are a bit on the blurry side as at one point my fingers were so cold I could no longer hold the camera properly :-O

At the bottom of the post I have imbeded last year's Fasnacht so you can see what it sounds like too.

Gypsy Card Reader

For all of those of you who didn't know this about me, I wanted to introduce what I do as a hobby and as a living.

I am a professional Gypsy Card Reader and having been reading the cards for over 7 years intensively. For two of these years I used to attend the Spiritual/Esoteric Fayres in South Africa and offered my services there with great success.

The Gypsy Cards are unlike the Tarot and are more your average fortune-teller cards. Unlike Tarot to do a reading I lay out all of the 36 cards, and through this have an indepth insight into areas of your life.

I only answer questions that are presented and do not answer questions relating to death or dying. I see the cards as an image of whereabouts you are on your path at the present moment. I can tell you the choices you have and details about finances, jobs, lovers and friends.

As I tell all of my customers, nothing is written in stone, so if aspects of your life do not suit you as they stand, I will give you the choices, as are presented to me in the cards, that you have to change your path.

What I am reading...

I am almost finished reading Patricia Cornwell's Book - "Portrait of a Killer - Jack the Ripper case closed" (available through Book Depository click on image above)

Now, I am by no means a ripperologist, but I have read briefly about him, and watched the various documentaries that were shown about the psychopath who eluded Scotland Yard. I must say this has been a very interesting book, and I feel that Patricia Cornwell has some very valid points. 

Whilst reading the book, I googled for a bit more information and came across many pros and cons about her writing. I think she has probably come very close to the truth, if not solved the case. 

Again, I am not a person who is very educated in the subject at all, but I feel that if she is correct, and can be proven to be correct, it could get a bit uncomfortable revering Walter Sickert as a brilliant painter and then in the same breath showing distaste for him being the most-wanted psychopath!
