A Productive Week

wip wednesday

I feel that I have been rather productive this week - maybe it is because there have been a couple of super changes that have finally taken place in our home (renovation-wise), more on that below :)

Let me start with this week's yarny progress:

stripey socks for jas

These are another pair of interim socks that I cast on quite a while ago.

Since I finished my June socks quite quickly this month, I have had some time to work a little on these.

I really love the colour transitions of this yarn and thought that as I have a purple toe and heel, that I would keep on knitting up the leg until I get to the purple section again to start on the ribbing - but the legs are getting too long for my preference so I have started on the ribbing yesterday.

I hope I will have these babies finished in time to share them with you on Friday (feel free to share your FO of the week with me then too)

I have chosen my yarn for next month's Sock-Along pattern.
I will be knitting with some Spinnwebstube yarn that I received this year in my Sock-Subscription packages.

I will be knitting the toes, heels and cuffs in the green tweed and the rest of the sock in the gorgeous brown/beige yarn.

Will you be joining in the fun?

Next month begins a new Prize segment so do stay tuned to see what will be up for grabs over the next three months.

You can find out all of the Sock-Along Info HERE

I even managed some progress on my enormous cat basket this week :)

We have had some more rainy, cool weather which has been perfect for blanket knitting. I have five more sections to go until I have the basket complete, but I am a little worried that I may run out of the yarn before I get to the end, which is quite bothersome as I ordered the amount that was stated on the pattern :(

I hope that I will have this piece finished before the heat hits us and then I can tell you if the yarn reached the end or not!

Onto sewing:

I was telling you about my current sewing project the last time I chatted with you. (You can find that post HERE)

Over the last week and a half I have been busy working on my Tunic.

This is my progress thus far, I will be altering the pattern a little by inserting sleeves.

I love this fabric and the pattern is looking great so far.

Onto Weaving:

The coolest bit of news is that my craft room is finally empty enough for my lovely loom to be unpacked...(it has been standing packed in it's delivery boxes for a year and a month now)

I have warped her, and will begin my first project with her at the latest on the weekend.

Besides all of these projects, I managed to get soaping again (I have a big market in November, so I need to get going if I want to have any produce on my stand) and I made my annual batch of Chutney.

Each year I need to make a little more as friends and family can't get enough of it. If you are a homesick South African looking for a certain Mrs. B's, or if you would simply like to give it a bash, you can find my recipe tutorial HERE

Reading Wise: I am still moving forward on the same title as the last 6 months ;O (so bad.....)

I will be sharing this post with all of my creative friends, so do pop over there for some great inspiration.

See you soon.
