Book Review - The Life of Pi

This was an amazing book. I wasn't sure if it would be a book that I would enjoy, but I became totally engrossed in this title and loved it right until the end.
I wasn't too happy with the two alternate endings or stories as I wanted a happy ending and loved the story incorporating the animals. It wasn't as gruesome as the possible reality of what really might have happened and I loved watching the relationship between Richard Parker and Pi grow.

The imagery in this book was amazingly vivid and the story was told in such a way that I truly believed it was a "Real-life" event. The talented novel writing of the book evoked, laughter, tears and wanting everything to have a perfect ending.

A book to become totally engaged in!

I would warmly recommend this book to teenagers and adults alike.

  1. I saw the movie first, but wish I'd read the book before doing it! The book is almost always better than the movie. Did you see the movie also, and if so, how would you compare them?

    1. Hi coach-daddy,
I read the book and then, because I was unhappy with the choice of endings I thought I would watch the movie in the hope that it would offer me yet another alternate ending. It didn't give me another ending, but it wasn't a bad movie. I am the worst critic of books being filmed, but this one was really not too far off and not too bad. I would definitely tell you to still give the book a try :)
      Thanks for visiting.

  2. I'm glad I stopped in as I was wondering about this book. Will have to download it before we leave for our fall camping trip. Looking forward to a little R&R. Thank for sharing ;)
