Single Projects

hiya hiya sock

I am finally back on my knitting, and have managed to finish sock number 1 of my Hiya Hiya sock KAL and have cast on for sock number 2.
I hope to have this pair of socks completed soon as I want to get cracking finishing my Stash-Busting list for 2013. These socks are also stash-busters but not planned for, and not out of the drawer that I want to empty!

Talking of the drawer, it seems to be getting re-purposed right now as I am filling it up with my materials that I am using for my sewing course on Craftsy :) So I am guessing that next years stash busting drawer may filled with a couple of need-to-make sewing projects too ;)

I still have a couple more projects on the list and I want to be just about done before the end of the year - which as we all know is screaming up to us at a rate of knots!

A recap on my stash-busting drawer and projects:

1. Jassy' Jumper - Completed
2. Birthday Gift for my Sister-In-Law - Completed
3. Birthday Scarf for Kayla - Completed
4. Socks for me - Completed
5. Socks for Jas - Completed
6. Socks for Kay - Completed
7. Pullover for Hubby
8. Cleo for me - Completed
9. Scarf for me
10. Fingerless Gloves for hubby - Completed
11. Perfectly Pink Sweater - Completed
12. Cap for Jas - Completed
13. Cap for Kay

After the socks I will be making Kay a new Capucine as the one I made her last year got damaged :( and I have some left over wool ample for another one. (The fact that it is quick, easy and fun isn't also a reason to make another one :D)

Onto some other updates:

  1. Wow! You are on a roll! I just started my first hat for Christmas...not sure I am going to get to too much more than hats and mitts for my kiddos this year...every year I say I am going to start early, and every year I end up getting side tracked by my garden... :-)

    1. Hi Heather,
I feel with you, I too am there each year, time just seems to speed up really quickly come October doesn't it?
Thanks so much for your visit.

  2. Great color and they looks so soft.

    1. Hi Emma,
I am not so sure I like the colour if I am totally honest. This yarn was originally being used for a summer cardigan from last year which is since in hibernation - on the cardigan it looked great! As sock wool goes, I like it, but I am not totally in love with it. I love the pattern though and think I will definitely knit these socks again in a one tone yarn so that you can really get to see the awesome patterning :)
Thanks so much for visiting, have you got your doggy yet?

  3. I'm definitely joining the gift swap next year. With all the gifts I was planning for this year I knew I wouldn't be able to squeeze another in.
You look like you're getting huge chunk of knitting done on your list.

    1. Hi Christine,
It will be great to have you on board with next years swap, it is so much fun! Well done with all your projects you have accomplished so far too - amazing!
      Thanks so much for visiting

  4. gorgeous sock yarn! I love the list and the crossing off--nothing like a productive list!!

    1. Hi Karen,
I must admit I do enjoy the list making, not for everything, but it is like a big pat on my back to be able to look back and say that I managed to knit all those things in one year. Without the list the projects kind of go missing if you know what I mean? They are harder to keep track of, and the yarn usage is the most amazing bit of it all! I have almost knit a whole sheep full of wool (well maybe not, how much is on a sheep LOL) ;)
      Thanks for visiting.

  5. You've been very productive by the sound of it! I like your socks :)

    1. Hi Evelyn,
Thank you so much for your visit :)
      Have a super weekend.

  6. What a beautiful color! Love the socks! And rock on with the stash busting!

    1. Hi Kelli,
      Thank you kindly :)
Have an awesome rest of your week and thank you so much for visiting.

  7. Lovely color! Good luck with the stash.

    Here's my WIP:

    1. Hi Jazz,
Thank you so much for your visit. Am heading over to check out your WIP now :)

  8. The more I swear to stash-bust ... the more yarn I wind up buying :-/

That's a lovely sock pattern ... looks squooshy and comfy!

    1. Hi Beth,
I can understand that, it is like trying to stop eating chocolate and then just craving it even more!
I have been there too but I kind of had a guilty conscience when I did look at prospective new yarn because I knew I still had the other projects waiting. But maybe that is what helped me hold back - all the yarn was bought with specific projects in mind and so there was definite planning and goal making behind it. I do have more problems with my other stash drawer that is yarn that has been collected over the last while or been given to me as I cannot find any motivation to use it, or find suitable projects to make with these single balls - I guess I will end up weaving that drawer ;D
Thanks for visiting, good luck :)
