Here is my Birthday Gift Cowl that I finished over the weekend.
I am still not sure how I feel about it though :(
I did have two takes for this project - I frogged the first attempt as it just wasn't great looking, and now that it is finished again, I am still not sure!
I really like the stitch that is included in the pattern, but am not sure if this pattern works with this yarn - do you know that feeling?
Well it looks nice to me!! I'd be happy if one of my attempts at knitting turned out half as good.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your Twitter link had an extra " in it so you may want to edit that. :)
DeleteHi Camille,
DeleteThank you kindly for the mention about the twitter button - it has been fixed and should work properly now :)
Thanks for visiting.
Have a super weekend.

I'm experiencing the same dilemma, I'm making a Wingspan shawl with sock yarn and I'm not too sure the yarn and pattern really work together.
ReplyDeleteI think your cowl works just lovely. The different shades and different stitches compliment each other.
Hi Emma,
DeleteThanks so much, I look forward to seeing your wingspan in all its glory, I am sure it will be lovely.
Have a fantastic weekend

I like the yarn and pattern together.

I think it's gorgeous Nat, if I was knitting a cowl this is how I would want it to look. The stitch techniques work so well with the beautiful autumn shades. I love it!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend

Hi Linda,
DeleteThanks so much for your opinion, the next cowl I knit will be one of yours, they are stunning!
Have a super weekend.

I think it's a lovely combination of yarn and stitch pattern, the cowl is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy,
DeleteThanks :) - I guess my frustration with it is maybe the fact that I knit it twice, never a good thing for me :O
Thanks so much for visiting.

I think the cowl looks great! I really like the yarn with the pattern.
ReplyDeleteHi nothingbutknit2,

Nice cowl, the colors are festive and the stitch pattern is very interesting. Good job!

I had the same feelings recently about a cowl I was working on. Decided to just finish it and once it was done I was happy with the way it turned out. So I definitely understand your concerns. I think yours looks great....just wear it proudly!
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa,
DeleteI agree, that is what I should do, but as it is meant to be a gift there is that extra added doubt about it! I may start another project and then decide which I prefer to give away, and keep the other for myself :)
Thanks for visiting.

It's lovely, keep it just as is! Most people are not going to look so close as to see the actual stitch pattern. Stand back, away from it, and see what kind of effect it gives.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chrisknits, I will do that as soon as I get off the PC to see if it makes a difference :)
DeleteHave a great weekend.

It looks nice to me. The colour is beautifully warm. It's possible that the pattern doesn't show that well (you never know for sure how it will look if you make it different) but who cares. Have a nice weekend. Regula
ReplyDeleteHi Regula,
