The Morning After the Night Before

Good morning dears,
Well, I spent most of last night editing the Online Broadcast and it is now ready for you to watch below.

Thank you to Amy who came to the event and to Stacey who tried throughout the whole event to join us, I hope you can join us next time :)

Thank you also to those of you who tuned in through the broadcast, I apologize for the mess with sound in the beginning, but hey, it was the first event, things can only get better from here on in right?

The winner title from the voting has been announced....
The first book we will be reading is:

book club life of pi

I am really happy with this choice and can't wait to get reading this evening.

The next 3 books have also been chosen for the rest of 2013 -
They are in order:

The next Online Hangout Event will take place on

  1. Hi Natalie! I'm from the U.S., and would LOVE to become a member of the book club! However, I am not at all familiar with "Google Hangout"?? I did just get my first computer camera, for Skype purposes, (Yes, I have an old computer, and I'm told XP will soon be a thing of the past! Oh no!)... Any info/advice about this hangout will be appreciated. I just signed up for the newsletter, so I hope this hereby establishes myself as an official member? Honestly, I just never even HEAR of any local book clubs around my way, although I admit I'm a little bit of a hermit. I don't get out as often as others might, but I'm just happiest in the comforts of home, I guess. I look forward to reading and participating with the group, and the recipe challenges sound like fun!... I'm not yet sure if I will jump in, and fall in sync with you all for The Life of Pi, but I will definitely look into purchasing the next book, The Light Between Oceans, for October. ~tina

    1. Hi Tina,
How lovely to hear from you.
I will be publishing a "How-To" video for the Google Hangouts this morning (Sunday) which should guide you through the steps of how to get into the next one.
I would love it if you came to the book-club, and I will help you as best as I can to get in there :)
      Have a super Sunday.

  4. Thanks for making it available for me to listen in to you and Amy. It would be such fun to have you both as online, global friends and"hang-out". I'm not much of a "techy" and I've never done this before, but I love to read and think you'll stretch my choices of books.
I personally love the stated time as I'm usually home alone at that hour. Well, that is, unless I'm called in to fill in for someone at work, which is what happened this time.
If I can work it at all for the suggested days, I'll do my best to figure out how to do this google hang-out stuff, but you might have to walk me through it with written instructions or whatever!
Again, thank you and Happy Reading!

    2. Hi Debi,
It would be wonderful to have you join us.
I will be posting a How-To post later today on the Google Hangouts (Sunday 18th) so do come back and see if it helps explain it to you.
I look forward to meeting you in the future.

  5. Hello Nathalie

I'm glad to hear that you had a good time (althought there seem to have been some minor things not working as planned). I won't be joining in. It makes me too nervous. I hate to call, I hate skype. I'd rather write and read.

I like the title of you blog post: There is always a morning after a night before. Really, I like the thought. I tells me not to worry. :-)

Have a nice Sunday evening and a good start into the new week. Regula

    1. Hi Regula,
I can understand you, I too had to jump over my shadow to do the video chat and I know it will get easier with time, it is fun though :)
You can always take part in the book club passively, you can watch the hangout live on my blog, you can take part in the discussions on the Twitter feed as well as make comments under the videos, if you would like?
I wish you a great start to your week also.
