Then we waited in an enormous queue to walk back home across the bridge. Eventually after a couple hundred people walked over in front of us, it was our turn. It wasn't so bad with the swaying until we were half way over, then it started to sway like we were on a boat, I eventually felt rather queasy and sea-sick and at that point just wanted to get off the thing. We will go again when the attraction has worn off, I guess when the 4 of us cross it alone, it won't swing as much as it did.
The queue of people doing the walk on the old trail.
The Old Bridge
The river
The trickle of water from the waterfall
The first sighting of the new bridge through the canopy of the trees.
Walking under the bridge
The queue of people waiting to cross the bridge
The "Treichler" Bell-ringers were the first to cross ringing their bells.
The "Treichler" crossing the bridge- always gives me goosebumps!
The many people crossing -the bridge can apparently hold 1032 people at one go!
The view from the middle of the bridge, to be honest I held the railing for dear life and just took any old photo, almost with my eyes closed trying not to barf!
So there you have it, I hope you enjoyed watching this bridge grow from beginning to end. If you want to recap, visit these pages :)
The last reminder for those of you wanting to take part in the Secret Santa. Entries will be closing for this swap tomorrow morning, so if you want to take part please sign up here.
