Cowl Wednesday

drops cowl

Welcome back Wednesday!
Hope all of you out there have had a creative, productive week?

I am preparing for a craft party this evening, so I don't have too much time on my hands to chat, so let me get straight in to this weeks' WIP.

As you may notice the bright cap from last week is no longer in the photo, it is done and will be introduced to you on Friday ;)

My yarn for my Artic Ice test cowl from Linda @ Mamma4earth arrived on Tuesday and so I cast on immediately. :)

I ordered a choice of two yarns Drops Big Delight or Lang Yak.

My first choice would have been the Lang yarn as it has such a wonderful colouring to it which you can't really see in this photo. I did cast the cowl on with this yarn first, but it just isn't thick enough to look that good and after the first section of the pattern I decided against it! I will be making something else with this yarn in the future as it is so pretty!

I am happy with the choice of Drops Big Delight for this cowl, it is so lovely and soft.

Unfortunately, I can't take a very focused image of how the pattern looks in it, but I hope to have hubby to hand when it is finished for a better image.

I think it is looking super with the pattern, and the different shades of blue seem to work wonderfully with the pattern changes - as if it has been made for this cowl :)

How is your WIP going this week?

On to my reading: I finished "The Book Thief" over the weekend, (the book review will follow shortly) and have started "Friendship Bread". I am enjoying the book so far, but will let you know my thoughts once I am a little further.

Don't forget to drop by tomorrow for Tutorial Thursdays and share your crafts and creativeness with us all!
I am so pleased to have a wonderful Guest-blogger joining us tomorrow.

Vicky will be showing us how to transform a skirt into this bag - don't miss it!
See you all tomorrow
x
I will be sharing this post over at Tamis and Ginny today.

    1. Hi mysparemoments,
Thank you kindly :) The Book Thief was wonderful - my review will be posted on Sunday if you would like to come back and read it then? I loved it and also didn't want it to end - very blurry last pages :) Are you a member of our book-club? There we have an available platform to chat about the books we are reading, would be great to see you there. (The link is a little further down on the side bar)
      Thanks for visiting.

    1. Hi Ana,
I am so glad the KnitPros arrived :)
It is always a bit nerve-wracking sending stuff to the opposite end of the earth!
      Enjoy them!

  5. The blue is so pretty! I have been drawn to blues lately...maybe because I am looking for a clear blue sky outside!

    1. Hi Heather,
Could definitely be the lack of the blue sky!!
The yarn I am using is so pretty, pity I can't get it nicely into focus - hopefully next week.
      Thanks for visiting.

  6. WHat a beautiful color of yarn! I had a lovely blue I liked and made felted slippers..and then over felted them. My friend now has a great pair of felted slippers. My kids have read the lightning thief, but I haven't yet. And I've seen Friendship Bread, but not got that on the nightstand yet!!
